Install Windows 8 from a USB stick

Setting up your computer to boot Windows 8 from a USB flash drive is easy.  Many people are opting for USB installations of their operating system over CDs.  There are a wide variety of tools that allow you to extract an ISO to a USB drive for installation.

Today we’ll be dealing with Win8USB.  Like their other software which includes support for Windows 7, this program works with just a few clicks.  Grab the Windows 8 ISO which is currently available from Microsoft for free.  Run the program and extract all files to your USB stick.  You’ll need to be running Window Vista or higher in order for this to work properly.  Lastly, just adjust your BIOS to boot from the USB driver before your hard disk.
Windows 8 USBThis is useful because Windows 8 is still not released to the public yet.  Versions are constantly changing and updating, so burning a DVD each time you want to install it is not practical.
